The tabbing requirements for Folded Self-Mailers and Catalog-style Mailpieces in the Letters category which previously applied only when claiming Automation postage rates now apply when claiming Machinable postage rates as well.  This change, which went into effect with the May 11, 2009 rate increase, means that Folded Self-Mailers and Catalog-style mailpieces that qualify for Letter rates and are not tabbed according to the USPS standards will be considered Non-machinable.  For First Class mail, this means a $0.20 per piece surcharge.  For Standard and Non-Profit mailers, the postage can be as much as $0.30 per piece more.

Post Masters is happy to provide tabbing services to assure that you won't have to pay these Non-machinable rates.  Contact us today.
